2021 Orange Shirt Day & National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Tomorrow, September 30th is the annual Orange Shirt Day and the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. As we continue to reflect on what it will take to be in right relation with the Indigenous peoples of this land, we encourage all of us to review the 94 calls to action and to deeply think about our shared responsibility in further advancing these important calls. We still have a long way to go as the adverse impacts of colonialism still persist. We also remain hopeful that with increased awareness and meaningful action, together we can contribute to a better future.

Today, tomorrow, and always, we honour all the children and families impacted by the horrors of the residential “school” system.
