5-Part Series: Truth and Reconciliation Conversations
About this Series:
The Social Change Leadership Collective (SCLC) would like to invite you to participate in upcoming bi-weekly discussions (5 sessions) on truth and reconciliation starting January 10, 2022 – March 7, 2022 (6-7:30 PM EST). This topic was chosen based on recent survey results from our stakeholders. The guiding question for this series is: How can we meaningfully contribute to redressing the impacts of settler colonialism and the inequities that Indigenous communities continue to experience?
These conversations are intended to facilitate a process of personal and group transformation that could further ignite meaningful participation in truth and reconciliation and social change leadership. We have also taken into account that individuals outside of Canada have indicated an interest in this topic, and as such, we welcome your insights and experiences as well. Below are the session topics and dates:
In preparation for the first session, we recommend the following pre-work:
- Read the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) of Canada: Calls to Action (Link to PDF)
- Think about how some of the 94 calls to action relate to your own work/experiences
We look forward to engaging with you in these important conversations in the new year. Kindly note that as this series is limited to 20 people, we encourage you to reserve your spot as soon as possible. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at ica@icacan.org
*The Zoom details will be sent to you a few days before the first session*
