Giving Tuesday/End-of-year fundraising: Support youth: (13-15 years olds) in building their leadership capacity
Today is Giving Tuesday, a global generosity movement. This year we are seeking support to offer the second virtual Courage to Lead Youth (CTL) program (for 13-15 year olds) in the early summer of 2022. The first offering/pilot was an overwhelmingly positive experience. Nine youth participated from different parts of Canada (Ontario, Winnipeg and Manitoba), the United States, Taiwan and Bangladesh. Six youth attended regularly, four of whom have expressed an interest in returning to co-lead the next program
The Courage to Lead Youth program:
- Supports youth in using self-reflective/awareness tools
- Creates a safe environment where youth can explore what effective, courageous and facilitative leadership looks like
- Supports youth in exploring their leadership strengths, interests and passions
- Strengthens skills and confidence to solve problems and navigate change and its accompanying uncertainties
With your help, we can continue building our vision of supporting youth globally in navigating their leadership journeys. Our goal for this Giving Tuesday, and end-of-year fundraising, is to raise $7,500 which will aid the further implementation of this work. With your generous support, we believe we can achieve this goal before the end of December 2021.
Here is what your gift will do:
- Your giving will help us provide honorariums for the youth co-leads/facilitators
- Provide participants with a Courage to Lead course companion guide (a 50+ page manual based on the book The Courage to Lead: Transform Self, Transform Society by Brian Stanfield, 2012, 2nd ed)
- Provide small grants to youth-led community projects led by CTL youth participants
Every amount makes a difference. We greatly appreciate your kind generosity. Thank you so much for supporting our work.
