Fundraising Campaign: Making leadership programming accessible to youth

Update:

We kicked off our annual year-end fundraising campaign with Giving Tuesday and are continuing to raise funds until the end of the year (Dec 31, 2022). We are seeking support to expand our Courage to Lead (CTL) youth programming. Last year, we set a goal of raising $7,500. Thanks to your generous contributions, we were able to raise $12, 547.

In the Summer of 2022, 11 youth (13-15 years of age) participated from different parts of Canada, Ghana and Nigeria. We also had two CTL youth program participants from the 2021 cohort join us as co-leads/facilitators. Here is how they (Isabella & Kyna) described their experience.

The purpose of the Courage to Lead Youth program is to:

• Encourage youth to “lead from where they stand.” In other words, being able to lead in whatever situation they find themselves in, regardless of titles, a position, etc.
• Support youth in strengthening their confidence and skills to problem solve and navigate change.
• Guide youth through an exploration of their leadership strengths, interests and passions.
• Support youth in building their self-awareness through self-reflective tools.
• Create a safe environment where youth can explore what effective, courageous and facilitative leadership looks like.
